I am in absolute shock at the moment, learning the news that the (extremely) Honorable Loyola Sullivan, Minister of Finance for Newfoundland and Labrador, has resigned from public life. Of course, Mr. Sullivan has done yeoman service as our finance minister.

Unfortunately, there is no center, center-right or right-wing perspective available in any media form in Newfoundland and Labrador.
on a side-note
This was brought up to me by the most unlikely of sources, recently as reminder. The brother of a well-known Liberal in NL stated to me "If you believed the media, who are inventing the news, you would believe that Danny Williams is doiung a piss-poor job and the government in disarray when in actual fact, this is a people's leader... a champion for the masses who can do no wrong, and only John Efford would stand a fighting chance opposing him in an election. But because the media in NL is so Liberal-biased...we do stand a chance. Their disconnection with reality is amusing and enticing."
Enough said.
I sincerely hope Mr. Sullivan does well in private and personal life and am certain he will make a notable contribution wherever he ends up.
Happy New Year.
